Kathaipetti is a personalised AI enabled story telling device that can narrate downloaded stories to children in the voices of the child's loved one. It has 3 main components - 1. A physical device that can narrate downloaded stories to children without the need for internet or mobile phone at close range. 2. A parental companion app that enables parents to select/buy stories and upload custom voices to push to device. 3. AI enabled voice personalisation that uses multiple voice cloning tech to narrate stories in the voices of the child's loved ones. 4. Multi lingual content with special focus on regional languages that are age appropriate and culturally relevant.

Tell us a bit about how founding team knows each other.

Nithya and Shankar first met eight years ago during a startup program and have worked closely on multiple initiatives since then, building a strong professional rapport. Hari is a fellow resident in the same residential community. The trio with complementary skills sets bonded over their shared experiences as parents and professionals, which laid the foundation for building Kathaipetti.

Why did you decide to start this company?

Kathaipetti began at a birthday party, sparked by my struggle to engage my child without screens or grandma’s stories and brain storming over meaningful birthday gifts with friends.
