*Upaz an agri-fintech company works on a panchayat (Village Council) level Community Commerce & Financing model enabling B2C delivery of financial and agri services to smallholder farmers right at their doorsteps *In the absence of our Community Commerce Model, B2C delivery of services and products is not possible due to fragmented demand and lack of trust & familiarity of digital-only platforms with end users
*We operate on an innovative panchayat level “Community commerce & Financing Model” through our field officers on the ground who onboard 200-400 farmers by forming farmer groups of 8-16, each led by a group leader *Enrolled farmers receive the best quality agricultural inputs on credit. They pay back the amount in installments throughout the season. Once agri-inputs are delivered, our field officers through our tech stack impart training on research-backed agri-practices. Expert advice at each stage helps farmers increase their productivity and direct touch with farmers through our field officers helps us in developing a long-lasting relationship with farmers. We have 85%+ repeat clients *We are currently working to close the whole loop by enabling our farmer network to sell their produce directly to Agri produce buying companies through us. *We directly work with farmers on a panchayat level “Community Commerce & Financing Model”. Due to the small land size, most smallholder farmers don’t have enough working capital when sowing to buy quality agricultural inputs. So they either compromise on the quality of agricultural inputs or take loans from local moneylenders at extortionary rates *We are currently associated with 2,500+ farmers with 3,500+ acres under our service package. So far, we have delivered ₹ 80 million worth of services on credit.

Enrolled farmers get quality agricultural inputs delivered at the village level, agri-advisory services to improve their yield, and post-harvest support to get a better price for their harvest *We started our operations from East Champaran in Bihar as a One Acre Fund pilot project and have now spun off into GreyMatter Technologies
