MUU offers next-generation dairy alternatives that replicate the taste, texture, and functionality of conventional cow’s milk. Using precision fermentation and proprietary microbes, we produce bio-identical milk proteins -- identical to those found in cow’s milk, but made without animals. Our products deliver a true dairy experience while offering clear advantages: they are free from lactose, hormones, antibiotics, and cholesterol, making them a healthier choice. MUU’s animal-free process is also ethically sound and significantly more sustainable, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, land use, and water consumption by over 90% compared to traditional dairy farming.
Founded in 2021, Regene Bio (operating under the brand MUU) is a food-tech startup revolutionizing dairy through animal-free milk proteins. Using precision fermentation and proprietary microbes, MUU develops bio-identical milk proteins that replicate the taste and functionality of cow’s milk without involving animals. With in-house capabilities spanning strain development, fermentation, and downstream purification, MUU serves as a B2B ingredient supplier to coffee shops, dairy producers, and F&B manufacturers. Headquartered in Thailand, with entities in Singapore and Hong Kong, MUU has attracted interest from over 15 global and regional food companies for product trials. The core team includes a serial entrepreneur, a scientist specializing in strain development, and a global PR expert, supported by a biotech team of three full-time scientists and one technical advisor. MUU is backed by leading financial and strategic investors including Glocalink (Leave a Nest Group), Brinc, Xpdite, and Fruita Bio.
Our business model is Business-to-Business (B2B). We plan to supply our products to a diverse group of B2B partners, including coffee cafes, F&B manufacturers, and dairy producers. In the initial phase, we aim to focus on selling liquid milk to coffee shops. Our engagement channels will be direct sales, participation in exhibitions and trade shows, as well as involvement in startup programs and networking events.

Tell us a bit about how founding team knows each other.
Chanapol and Rawikarn, friends since undergrad, started MUU and sought guidance from their advisor, Dr. Kittipong, an expert in bioprocess engineering. He introduced them to Dr. Pakjira, his former student working at a top lab in Germany. Inspired by MUU’s vision, Dr. Pakjira relocated to join the team full-time, uniting their expertise to bring the idea to life.
Why did you decide to start this company?
After learning from a Netflix documentary about the environmental impact of cow milk, Chanapol and Rawikarn quit dairy and created MUU --a sustainable milk alternative that tastes like the real thing.
