Gurucool is an educational networking platform that offers a suite of AI-powered tools to connect learners and educators. We can understand it as— Social Media with Learning Tools. With more than 25 tools and a vast content pool, Gurucool empowers campuses like schools, panchayats and colleges to go online and build their digital infrastructure, enabling learners to find, connect and learn from them.
The Brooking Institute estimated that it will take 100 years for young people in the developing world like India to have the same learning opportunities and outcomes at today's pace as young people in the developed world. The problem Gurucool aims to solve is this significant 'educational inequalities' characterized by inaccessibility, poor quality, and impersonality. Despite the widespread use of smartphones among rural youth, educational resources remain scattered, with 42% of rural students in the 14-18 age group struggling with easy English and 50% with basic math. India's ‘learning poverty’ has shot up to 70%. With its one-size-fits-all approach, the current educational system fails to cater to students' diverse needs. Additionally, the high cost of private schooling and outdated college education financially burden many families. Gurucool devised a solution for 'educational inequality' - an Educational Network. We have built social media with learning tools, which are also gamified and AI-powered. Gurucool was ranked among the Top 5 startups in the Bihar Startup Summit and among the Top 40 startups globally run by student entrepreneurs by TiE. Our team has won the MBillionth Award for Mobile Innovations in South Asia. We have been featured in 20+ reputed news media like The Hindu, The Financial Express, Dainik Bhaskar, etc. We have partnered with the Telangana Government to implement our app in 204 residential schools.
Our Business Model is three-dimensional. 1. Premium Subscription: Plus Subscription: Offers a curated and personalized learning experience for learners. The pricing is set at $15 per year. Phygital Subscription: Provides a hybrid learning experience, combining digital and physical resources, available at Gurucool-partnered centres. This is priced at $50 per year. 2. Enterprise Solutions: We sell advanced paid tools with an AI-powered dashboard to campuses, like Teach Pro, Campus ERP, Performance Plus, Content Place etc. Advertisements: Monetizing the platform by displaying ads, leveraging the engagement and active user base.
