We tend to enjoy food even more when we like the environment a host provides, And GAON is India’s first structured desi food brand, reviving the rich culinary heritage of Bihar, Awadh, Rajasthan, and Punjab with a modern, scalable approach. Our offerings span across three key layers: Signature Dishes – Authentic recipes like Champaran Handi Mutton, Litti-Chokha, Thekua, Laung Latika, and Rajasthani Dal-Baati-Churma — prepared using traditional techniques but standardized for quality, hygiene, and scale. Healthy & Innovative Snacks – Bite-sized Littis with diverse fillings, ready-to-eat chutneys and chokha sachets, and reimagined versions of everyday Indian snacks — healthier alternatives to fried fast food like samosas and momos. Multi-Channel Presence – Our products are designed to reach customers everywhere: Dine-in & Takeaway through our QSR and cloud kitchen formats. Online Delivery via Swiggy, Zomato, and our own channels. Quick Commerce & Marketplaces like Blinkit, Zepto, BigBasket for packaged foods. Travel Retail with products tailored for airlines, railways, and highways. Beyond food, GAON is building technology-led solutions — from automated machines for mass-producing littis to scaling handi-cooked Champaran Mutton — making authentic desi food both accessible and scalable. In short: GAON is not just a restaurant brand — it’s a new-age food company blending tradition with technology to bring real, authentic, and desi food to millions of Indians across every touchpoi
GAON, an internet-first restaurant brand recently featured on Shark Tank India Season 4, where we secured a multi-shark deal from Anupam Mittal and Vineeta Singh. GAON is on a mission to reimagine India’s heartland cuisine—bringing authentic Bihari, Awadhi & Rajasthani flavors like Litti Chokha, Dal Batti Churma, and Champaran Handi Meat to every city, every home, and every journey. We are proud to be among the first to introduce authentic Bihari , Awadhi and Rajasthani flavors to the world — offering signature dishes like Champaran Handi Meat, Dal Baato Churma , Litti Chokha, and many more that celebrate authentic desi pride for a modern India and aim to make Litti a heartier, healthier alternative to samosas and momos — and bring a piece of gaon to every city, every home, and every journey. . Initially launched in late 2017 as a themed restaurant, GAON operates in an emerging ₹5 lakh crore food market and ₹20,000 crore snacks market — and is known as arguably the first brand to bring fresh, authentic food from the heartland across Delhi-NCR. GAON takes pride in introducing dishes such as Champaran Handi Meat, Litti Chokha, and more offerings that resonate with Indians who are desi at heart yet cool — and want to flaunt their love for their very own authentic food. Today, GAON operates 4 cloud kitchen outlets under its flagship brand GAON, alongside Champaran Meat Co., a sub-brand specialising in Bihari cuisine catering specifically to non-vegetarian lovers & two more brand
At Gaon, our revenue model relies significantly on online sales channels like Swiggy, Zomato, and our own website, in addition to dine-in and takeout orders. We also explore revenue opportunities through B2B bulk ordering, pop-up counters, and participation in various food festivals. Furthermore, we actively accept direct orders, continuously seeking new avenues to increase revenue. This drive for growth leads us to experiment with new foods, and if successful, we may launch or pilot sub-brands to explore further expansion opportunities. Like for example we are venturing into snacks space by introducing one of it’s kind snacks brands which will revolutionize snacks market completely by offering various type of litti and small bite size easy on belly snacks as healthier alternative of Momo’s & Samosa in India to be placed as more of qsr than a cloud kitchen and shall not only available for customers through online ordering but also be available for customers to order in packed format through nearest store or quick commerce ,Additionally, we are exploring the direct-to-consumer (D2C) approach by introducing unique delicacies like Thekua, Murki, Longlata, Khurma, and more followed by ready-to-eat Litti Chokha and sattu parathas.

We don’t see direct competition in our category today because we’ve spent the last six years building and educating this market from the ground up before converting it into a customer base for GAON and Champaran Meat Co, If we look at competition, it really comes in three layers. On one side you have the global fast-food giants like McDonald’s, Domino’s, or KFC. They dominate cities with burgers, pizzas, and fried chicken, but they don’t address the massive demand for authentic desi food. Then you have Indian QSRs and cloud kitchens — brands like Haldiram’s, Bikanervala, Wow! Momo, or Rebel Foods with Behrouz Biryani. They’ve built good scale, but their focus is largely on sweets, snacks, or generic Indian meals, not on structured Bihari or Rajasthani cuisines. And finally, there’s the unorganized market — local vendors selling litti-chokha, kachori, or samosas. They bring authenticity, but hygiene, consistency, and scalability are missing. Where GAON is different is that we’re the first structured brand to focus on authentic Bihari and Rajasthani food at scale. We’re blending tradition with technology — whether it’s automated machines for litti or scaling Champaran mutton — and making it accessible across dine-in, delivery, quick commerce, packaged foods, and even travel retail. So while players exist in adjacent spaces, nobody is solving authentic desi food at scale the way GAON is. And that’s the white space we’re capturing
Tell us a bit about how founding team knows each other.
Rajesh, Deepak, and I are brothers—everything began with the three of us. Shashank joined us later; I first met him while I was leading the North Region operations for HungerBox, where he was part of my team.
Why did you decide to start this company?
We started GAON to bring the authentic flavors of rural India to modern kitchens and urban tables. More than food, it’s about celebrating heritage, connecting people to their roots, and turning dishes
Are all the founders full-time on this project?
