The product is a wearable designed for first-level diagnosis of cardiac conditions. Deaths due to heart-related diseases are among the highest, especially in Rural areas. Lack of medical services and limited access to healthcare personnel are major reasons. Lack of personal low-cost first-level diagnostic devices is also a big cause. Considering the need for Effective first-level diagnostic equipment, use can be made of Smartwatches equipped with ECG (and PPG) diagnostic capabilities. The device being developed enables testing, storing, and analyzing an ECG (and PPG) waveform. It enables storing the test results locally in a smartphone or companion device. It uses an AI engine to collate the waveforms collected over a range of days and put together an analytical result. Apart from a smartwatch-type device, a separate desktop device with all the above features in a single device is being designed. This will be for use by health-care professionals and rural and small clinics. There are a number of Smartwatches and Fitness bands that supposedly offer ECG measurements. However, their performance is not consistent in general. The ones with a reasonable accuracy are too expensive. A recently introduced cardiac-related device is priced at Rs. 1,00,000. The interface software in almost all the current devices is the same, H-Band. However, it is just an interface that displays results and offers first-level basic information but no diagnosis or suggested action.
Dulcimer Innovations is a Product Design and Manufacturing company. It has been founded by an IIT, Delhi alumnus with 46 years of experience in the field. He has designed for his customers various products in Medical Devices, Smart Homes and Buildings, Solar Power Systems and Consumer Electronics. The Smart device wearable samples are under testing. We have upgraded the device after the initial samples were tested. Some samples have been arranged for wider testing. The design for the portable handheld device is in process. It is proposed to initially use our sister company in Hong Kong to produce the PCBs and other key parts. The final assembly will be done in India. The next phase shall involve the final assembly to be done in India. Some parts will continue to be imported because of limited or no availability in India. Software will be written in India.
