Areno is an AI-powered gamified arena for holistic fitness. We use computer vision to measure & track the fitness activities using only mobile camera and without need of any other hardware. The fitness activities that are tracked on our mobile app using AI are workouts, fitness game and yoga. The activies are done by users as part of various types of challenges for which they are rewarded in Areno points that can be redeemed for cash vouchers. Users can also create clans (private groups) with friends or family to organize private challenges among the members. The product also enables various leaderboard challenges for different B2B use cases among individuals and teams.
We are a team of 3 co-founders and 4 full-time employees at Areno. The startup was founded in March 2022 and our app was released in July 2023. We are at a stage of early commercialization. Our vision is to make India and the world a healthier place to live. In order to achieve this, we believe that people need to spend at least few mins a day on fitness. But most of the people are unable to do so either due to time, laziness, lack of motivation or lack of appropriate options. To solve these problems in fitness, we have come up with a gamified and rewarding technology platform called Areno. Through this platform we are providing an option for users to do 1-min activities anytime, anywhere using only their mobile phone. Our objective is to provide a platform that motivates people to build a habit of fitness by walking, doing simple workouts, yoga, meditation and playing fun games. Our mobile app is live with 40,000+ downloads and we are now extending Areno for various B2B use cases such as corporates, insurers, schools etc. Going forward we believe that these B2B and B2B2C use cases would be our primary revenue source where through different motivating factors we can incentivize people to stay fit.
B2C: Freemium model with subscription pricing at Rs. 99/month. This enables users to access all features and all forms of wellness on the app. It also lets users redeem their Areno points into cash vouchers. This was recently launched and we have started getting some initial paid users. Apart from this we also have in-app purchase of Areno points as a revenue source. B2B: We intend to generate significant revenues through insurers and corporates by targeting various use cases. This would also involve integration of white-labeled solution with existing apps. We are about to sign a deal with a top insurer of India. B2B2C: We see a huge potential in enabling fitness challenges for school students as inter-house and inter-school competitions. This is based on very high engagement in our first school pilot. We believe that parents would be willing to pay a small participation fee for such challenges as they do for others sports and extra curricular competitions.

Tell us a bit about how founding team knows each other.
Nikhil and Sidharth are Co-brothers (wives are real sisters) and know each other from 15 years. They met Suresh through LinkedIn and found a perfect match for Co-founder & CTO in Suresh.
Why did you decide to start this company?
We observed that even though there exist numerous fitness apps, none of them have made fitness a fun and rewarding activity keeping it affordable using deep tech and that was the reason to start Areno
